All pieces on this set are made of ultra strong 12C27 Sandvik Stainless Steel with a thickness of 3mm. 12C27 is a martensitic stainless chromium steel. The composition of carbon and chromium gives a unique combination of properties including: very high hardness, very high wear resistance and corrosion resistant. Packaged in a handsome two tiers French Oak gift box. Individually hardened by hand; shaping and fitting are done by hand to the craftsman’s eye. Each knife, fork and spoon are assembled from start to finish in one sequence and by a single artifice. Following Laguiole traditional style, the spring is polished on the inside and forged as one piece with its fly (forged bee). The bee is welded onto the spring stainless steel bolster.
